RP Dragon Boat Rowing Team Wins All Gold Medals in China
The Philippine Dragon Boat team won all gold medals in the recent 2009 Dragon Boat festival at Nanning, China. All eight golds were captured in the Mixed Team and All-Men’s 600-meters and 250 meters for small boat and big boat events.
The Philippine team went up against 10 strong teams coming from Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, United Kingdom and powerhouse China.
Some of RP Men’s team members are Uzman Anteriola and Suhod Hakim, while Mt. Everest conqueror Noelle Wenceslao led the Women’s team with Amina Amudin, Aileen Padrones.

Well! I had no idea that the UK had a dragon boat rowing team. Too bad they didn’t win any medals

Its fantastic, boating is quite tough and to maintain a winning streak is difficult.

Wow, thats an extremely impressive record. Us British had a good rowing team at last Olympics, but by the sounds of it, we’ll have even more competition next time!

Wow, that’s quite a feat as China essentially invented that sport right? Congratulations and more power to the Philippine Dragon Boat rowing team!

Despite being involved in a couple of corporate Dragon Boat races on the Thames, I’ve never felt that a standard rowing machine could quite prepareme for the difference in style used. (Despit the overall fitness improvement of course!)
