Find Blog Advertisers

Okay you’ve got a blog. What’s next? It’s time to monetize it and there’s a lot of ways to do it.

Let’s talk about the most commonly used which is by selling advertising space. There’s two types of ad space you can sell, one is the text ad and the other one is the banner ad and in order to maximize potential earnings, you have to find your advertisers.

Promote Your Space. Let others know a space is available. Use “advertise here” texts to show its availability. Make sure that it redirects to a page that contains detailed instructions on how prospects can advertise there. Include rates, terms and your contact options.

Offer Sponsorship Deals. If your blog gets a good amount of targeted traffic, you can do blog content advertising. You can work for another company and promote their products and services by blogging about them. There’s a lot of companies that uses this as their marketing extensions.

Find Your Referrers. Trace your backlinks for other blogs or sites that links to you, they are potential advertisers too as they have seen something in your blog that will be of interest to their visitors. Try sending an email to inform them that you’ve got a space for advertising.

Use Search Engines. Perform a keywords search that relates to your blog topic. There are tons of companies out there that uses Google Adwords to advertise, try contacting them, let them know that you write things that are related to their product or services and offer your blog for their ads.

    Some of the ad companies will sell the space for you but they take a cut. You could make simple page with prices and terms then have payment like paypal and have them send details with payment. This way you get email with payment that has details and all you do is put the ad on site. You could even have recurring payments every month or year.
