I think people are just lazy and this seems like less work for them, when in reality it is probably easier just to type it in to the address bar.

Maybe they want to muddy the waters for those who are into keyword research or the hot search terms? I think I’m one of those people anyway. So sue me. nyahaha.

I would guess it is probably just the people who are not too familiar web browsing and do not realize you can just type the site into the address bar. Or it could just be that people are getting lazier by the day. Both would make sense to me.
